Even if those were worthwhile which they ARE NOT, that is still a rediculous price.

I think more folks have documented power losses and slower ETs with those than have found them to actually work.

DO Not buy

you are way better off with a mail order tune like pcmforless if you dont want a dynotune or even lots of camaro shops have a standard tune tat they can put in your car for half that much, one example is speedinc i believe they have a website xxx.speedinc.com it will redirect you to thier site wich is some thing like ls1 speed.com

First, what kind of programmer? A Hypertech Power Programmer? A Diablo?
Second, they all have limitations (unless it is a full solution like LT1Edit or TunerCat).
A HPP could be used to change shift firmness, shift points (for an A4), top speed, gearing calculator if you change the rear, 160 stats, and a few other small items.
But it is only worth about $125 on the open market.
None will be of any benefit for your limited mods.

Passing is certainly the right decision. This guy is trying to rob someone. I have a hypertech, only because it came with my car. It is nice to be able to do the things that koolaid_kid mentioned, but three hundred would go a long way toward setting you up with some real tuning software.

You can get a mail order tune that will be better and cheaper.
