I like bigger cubes because it helps keep the rpms down, RPM's kill cars. I built mine to be a decent street cruiser as the wife and I only had two cars at the time. Now we have three cars and it will be under the knife for a bit more aggresive build. My heads are OK and my cam is somewhat big. But heres the thing, I have a callies crank, block half filled, splayed , forged everything ETC..... This was done with the intent to get more serious in the future. Car will have the heads retouched (lt4), intake finally ported(LOL) and solid roller. I'm shooting for 470 rwhp N/A thru the A4 and a 250 shot. This should net me a solid mid 9 second car with supporting suspension.

People keep talking about the low rpms of strokers, how many of you noticed my shift points are set at 6050, I am very sure most if not all of you are shifting your strokers higher.

I am not saying that you are wrong about strokers can make the same power at a lower rpm, what I am arguing is the degree to which this matters. Like I said I think you need to be at least approaching the 400rwhp number before any of that really matters. Which in an f-body especially should be a solid 11 second car, how many REALLY shoot for that, we all want fast but we are not all willing to make a car like that hook and work well. For a true daily driver I bet most guys are quite happy with 350-380 and a 350/355 can be VERY drivable and not spin too high to make this numbers.

I have always been impressed by some of the 355 LT1s out there, I have seen so many run so well. With the heads and cam numbers people are getting from their 350s, a 355 is not to bad of a choice, easily capable of making similar power when set up well but you can do a forged short block as an added benefit for future nitrous use. Granted I have seen some seriously impresive stroker cars, but they had a well set up valve train, heads and intake combo to make due and use of the added cubes. A lot of people dont really think their combos through, they just throw money at it. Far as cost an LT1 383 isnt much more, if you do a cast crank, about 275-300$ plus a little bit more on the machine bill to clearance the block. You could build a cheap *** 383 short block if you really wanted to, even cheaper 355 if you reused the stock rods and crank.

I think for the size of cam that I have and an unported intake. I'm pulling some good numbers. Probably pickup another 20 - 30 hp and at least another 15 lbs of TQ with a custom cam and ported intake

DO NOT use the hot cam with a supercharger, you will see much more power with the stock cam + supercharger than with the hot cam + supercharger.

Theres too much overlap in the hot cam, youl'l be blowing your boost right out the exhaust (and in the process possibly burning a valve). you want a nice small cam, truck cams work great with superchargers if you cant afford a custom grind. Be sure to get a supercharger grind and not a turbocharger grind, they like different things (mainly turbocharger grinds like a little more exhaust duration).
