LT1 Start up help....
LT1 Start up help.... 96 6-speed; just bolt ons....
When i try to crank my car up... it just makes a click noise.... not the battery, everything works as it should (lights not dim etc) THe click noise is coming from under the dash/ behind the glove compartment area..... If you sit in your car and lock your car via factory alarm, it makes the same click noise.... coming from behind the glove compartment box......
anyone had any similar trouble????
Its done this before but usually works after several try's of turning the key forward and off... but its not this time
Tryed to pop the clutch and start it but only had a few inches to move... Ive popped the clutch and it has worked.... but still want to find out whats cauing this!!!!

Since you've indicated that the sound is coming from the glovebox area, it might possibly be a bad TDR. (Theft Deterrent Relay.) It's the circuit that reads the resistance in the little pellet in your key to determine if it's the right value before sending current to your starter and injectors. thanks for the help!! I decided to do my brakes, oil change etc.... and decided to take out the starter..... two of the wires that lead to the starter were barely hanging on.... hope that solves the problem....
