Is my fuel pump bad?

Is my fuel pump bad? The car died twice. Each time, I started it up a few minutes after it died and drove a little bit more. Fortunately, I was able to make it pull into a gas station by my house and then make it home.
testing fuel pump:
1. Turn on the key and listen for pump @ the rear of the car
2. Disconnect the fuel line from the filter or fuel rail and turn the key on (see if fuel comes out)
If all that checks out and you get gas everywhere, ur good. To test if your fuel is getting there, try cranking and spraying carb cleaner in the Throttle Body, if it starts faster or starts then ur injectors could be dirty or faulty fuel rail, try to change fuel filter too.

Well, I haven't started the car in almost a week, but it started up tonight and ran for a little bit until I turned it off. The pressure was 42 pounds with the key on, and then it dropped to 35 pounds like it should.
I have my tank out rigth now awaiting a Walbro in the mail!!
My pump was strange.... had a full 12 volts to it, it would prime when the key was turnd on but it would only hold 12 pounds of pressure, and then drop to zero right after it quit priming.
When i could get it to start, it wouldnt raise anymore than 12 pounds. 12 month warranty, 13 months old... go figure!!
