Default Protecting the Opti from water

Ok, everyone knows you shouldn't get the Opti wet. That being said, I like to get an undercarriage wash sometimes when I get the car washed, especially if it has been driven in the winter. Would it be helpful to fab up a splashguard to protect the Opti? I was thinking I could attach one between the front sway bar and the skidplate under the steering rack. Does this make any sense, or is it still just a really bad idea to get an undercarriage wash?

It is something that needs to be a adressed, but the only problem with something like that, is that it would hold water then. Spray the underside down, but just be carefull around the opti, is the best thing really. Unless someone can fabricate a clear water tight box for the thing to sit in.
