Default Pepe Is Alive Again!!!

First and foremost BIG THANKS to Mike Pabon @Icon Autosports, he does FIRST CLASS work , just got home about 30 mins ago, vids are a little dark and do it no justice sound wise, but man talk about a BIG difference in how she runs, no more baby cam. I'll have it early next week sometime, have a few other goodies going in

This is straight through the Borla (which is coming off for true-duals), I'll get some vids of it running with the dual cutouts open next week. Then time for the track :beerbuds:

3/16/07 Update: Just got home, been driving around breaking in the new 9" and cam, couple updated vids from today. Mike finished it early so was able to take delivery this evening afterall, that's one hard worker! He got the 9" aligned, rear QA1s relocated, pinion angle set right, lowered the rear springs (1" now Vs. 4"), height set for drag all around, car professionally leveled, etc, etc. I had to get one final video of the old Borla, comes off 7am in the morning for xpipe, true duals and I'm thinking Dynomax Race Mufflers, not sure just yet...but I'm keeping my favorite..the dual cutouts.

(lol gotta love the Borla SHOTGUN BLAST at the end of the driveway)

Mike driving back from SeaTrials, all went well, car launches wicked now!

Couple pics at Barnes & Nobles in Clear Lake tonight.

Sun 3/18/07 Update: TRUE DUALS BABY!!! Ditched the Borla after 5 yrs she now has true-duals, DynoMax ss Xpipe w/DynoMax Race Mufflers. For the Houston locals Eric @LoneStar Muffler custom fit the setup, he does great work!

Went down in January, it was all rebuilt & finished around Aug of last year, ran it about 2 months, had a problem with the cam, changed the setup, and down about 2 months since Jan this yr.

Well the old combo was all of a 10.9 N/A setup, best I got with my pansy shifting was 11.12 (sig). This setup according to the cam spec tech I used feels with everything done to PEPE it should get me easily into the low 10.2 N/A area. That's without the SuperVic which looks like I'll be ordering sometime next week now. As for RWHP I'm hoping she's got a good 530ish now and around 550ish with the SuperVic.

Hey Brett I dunno if you knew, but I aquired a black '95 Z. I'm doing a kinda budget car with it. I built a Vortec 383 a couple years ago. Good short block but stock Vortec heads and the cam is profiled for a 4x4 truck LOL. I'm gonna put that in there, it will be carbed. I got a TH400 for free and I'm gonna throw that in there too haha. Just need a torque converter, tranny crossmember, shift cable, motor mounts, and some misc stuff. I'll change the heads and valvetrain sometime down the road. Should be fun and somewhat inexpensive.

No didn't know man, that's awesome! Budget anything is fun man, I honestly miss the old days of doing a $200 a month mod. Sounds like most of those parts can be picked up relatively cheap here and there. Truly makes it fun to build a badass fbody on a budget huh?

We'll see. She's in the driveway waiting. All I need to fire the motor up is headers, fuel line, and a radiator. Not sure if I will be able to get that stuff in the next couple weeks or not.

The true duals will make a WORLD of difference for you! I had a single 4" exhaust with SLP muffler and the cam could barely be heard. After the duals it sounded like a nasty big block muscle car coming down the road. You will LOVE it and wonder why you didn't do it sooner! Nice car bud!

thanks dude, well she has dual 3" stainless cutouts tig welded onto the 3" KOOKS stainless ypipe coupled to the Borla. It sounds like a dragster with the caps off at the track...or parking garage at work . I love the sound of Borla with the stroker but she needs a diet and I'm convinced the true duals with xpipe, etc would be a better/lighter setup. Gonna miss my Borla though...it was sold the minute I mentioned thinking about true-duals ...
