How do you remove steering elbow?

How do you remove that giant black book that goes over the steering elbow on the driver side of the motor? I need to remove it so my headers will go on...

Theres a hoseclamp style thing that you have to use a screwdriver to pry the clips apart on it. I believe its at the top of the boot.
