car wont start

well, i left my lights on today.....and the car is dead.

So I got jumper cables and got someone to help me out.
I try and start the car, and I see a full 12v on the battery meter, everything seems fine, I hear the fuel pump turn on, but when I try and crank it, it does diddly squat. Doesn't even attempt to turn over. The SES light is on aswell.

kinda at a loss.......no idea why it wont even try and turn over.

you've probably done this, but did you get your battery checked see if it has any dead cells? Pretty much has to be the battery if it was working then kapoot all of a sudden.

well, why when I was trying to get a jump, I saw a full 12v on the gauge, but it wouldn't crank?

okay, I just put a brand new fully charged battery in........no change. If I put the key in, it acts normal, except for the ses light. When I try and crank it, it does not do anything. More lights come on on the dash. I think the abs light, and some other ones.

any troubleshooting tips I should know? I really have no clue about this, it drove fine before I killed the battery.
