Need some help for a friend Ok well my friend let me drive his car today because it was runnig like complete crap. I got in and drove in first and shifted into second and hit it around 2700-3000 and rode it out to 50mph. The car was extremely sluggish and did not seem to rev quickly. I then put it in first and got the rpms up to 3000 rpms and hit it and it would even spin the tires, this was at full throttle. I came to a complete stop and put it in first and floored it and cut the wheel to turn and the car did nothing would not get lose and had no power. It doesnt shake like it has a burn wire or something but it does have 120000 miles on stock plugs and wires. I changed the fuel filter for him but still no help. Today he put in 87 octane gas and the engine was running really rough and its got a knock in it. I almost think the knock sensor went south and messed with the timming. Any suggestion would help, thanks. I also told him to never put any gas in there besides 93 octane.

Oil was changed not to long ago like 3 weeks or so and the car was doing the same thing before he ran the 87 octane gas. Iam leaning strongly toward the knock sensor anyone else think this could be it?
