Default Those of you with Converters

I would rather post in here considering if I post it in the Auto trans forum I will get replys based off of LS1's and because of our power band (LT1) we usually go with smaller sized converters than LS1's

Anyways I'm looking to buy the Yank Super Stock 3200 Converter (245mm, 2.1 STR), any one running this sized Converter or a 3400?
Would this be an ideal converter for use with a CC503 Cam that makes power between 1800-5800RPM and be used as a daily driver and some track use?
BTW My car has 3.23 gears

We do? Extension is what I would worry about for real good results (make or brakes a lot of combos), along with flash stall. If your shifting at 6200 or so you need 4600-5200 extension! more on the high side....I would put in atleast a SS3400 (maybe 4600-4700 rpm on the drop on your combo). After riding in my friends built 366 LS1 with a SS3200 I would only recommend them for near stock combos...A SS3600 would probably drop to 4900-5000rpm on the shift (for your combo) ....But sense your not a stall guy and need it for daily driving, I might go with the SS3400 to be safe.....I used to daily drive my 4400ish Stall (with good cooler)...My new SS3600 (will flash about 4100 on my combo) and feel a little tighter I'm sure...

^^So I've heard. I'm heavily starting to lean towards a SS3400 now, as long as it wouldnt be over kill for daily driving in traffic.

I run a 3400 Edge with a cam very close to the 503's duration, seems to work well for me.
Be advised the advertized powerbands of cams are almost always wrong for the LT1, the ultra short runners of the intake tend to more the true powerband up a few hundred rpms. You will be shifting over 6000.

Because you can't decide what converter (SS3200 or SS3400) to put in their...maybe they'll both be wrong. If you put in a 3200 you'll wish you went with a SS3400 (to try it atleast...). If you go with the SS3400 you'll probably wish it was tighter...Atleast until get used to a looser converter, then you'll want more. With a cam car I would choose the "SS3600" for the best of both worlds. Still good driveability but much better extension and take off (especially with a small cam). But again, it's going to feel a whole bunch looser then your used too. In the end you'll have to make the plunge and live with the results. I always error on the side of performance...vs driveability, if that helps any.....Good luck.....

I agree. The Yank SS3600 is probably the best all around converter.

i have the 3600 w/2.45 str with 3.73's. one word AWSOME! i have the stock h/c still on the car and this converter is excellent for the street! call edge and talk with andre. he is a hell of a nice guy and will answer any of your questions and point you in the right direction. 1-888-350-3343 or http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/

oh i almost forgot. get the biggest stacked plate style cooler u can fit in front of the a/c condenser and a tranny temp gauge too.
