edelbrock heads
first of all i know that edelbrock heads suck i bought them when i was new to f bods, anyways ever since i blew a head gasket and replaces my stock lt1 heads with the edelbrock performer heads my car seems a lot slower ....most of the time but every once in a while it seems like it did before the heads???? any advice of what i should look for , it is throwing out some auxillary coded p1641 and 6142

Well here are what the codes are.'
P1641 Fan Control (FC) relay 1 control circuit
P1642 Fan Control (FC) relay 2 and 3 control circuit
Wild guess but maybe your fans aren't kicking on and the engine getting real hot which would hurt the engines performance. Did you use the proper pushrods with the heads like they recommend? There is a bit of a length difference.

hmm its not the fans i just tapped into the relay and put a manual fan switch in so i know they work and yes we replaced the pushrods as well......damn i wish i could figure this out
