LOL big ******* hammer. Anyway, I have never heard of having to smash the box with the Hedman Hedders. Very weird. My Hookers went in without any problems. I would look into the_merv's firewall delete with heat. It looks really good in my opinion. I was gonna do it but got lazy at the last minute.

Id like to keep the box in case I want A/C later on.

Denny, the headers are the stepped heddmans (Tony Shepherds, OutlawZ, Colts95ta run them) they are a big header and demand manual steering rack and !heater box.

Thanks.
This is what I did, then again I have no intention on running AC. I am putting a few finishing touches on it still..
I used 1/16" Aluminum Plate, and sanded it with 100g so the paint would stick.

Looks even better than it did! I'm thinking I may just ditch the heat too for my LS1 turbo car. Might as well.

I should have put pants on

This **** is sticky as a mother trucker and its all over, i had to sit on the K member to apply the resin and hold the FG sheets, so the stuff got all over my hairy *** legs.

I put 2 sheets of fiberglass on and about 4 coats of resin, i will be sanding and bondo'n it up. I dont know if its totaly gona clear the headers (whenever i put em back on NeVaR) but its better then not having any heat.

You should have got some sheet aluminum from Lowes, cut it to fit, pop riveted it in a couple of places and THEN fiberglassed it. I "modded" the number 4 tube to fit WITH A/C he he.

This is mine to clear hedman hustlers and still have the heat, ditched the A/C!!!! I used some sheet metal and put heat sheilded dynamat on the backside to stop noise and extra heat, Pop rivets worked great also a little black silicon to seal it. Worked out like a champ and wont rust. any questions feel free. I pulled the dash and that kinda sucked. I did it all and back together in a day.

to answer the question regarding WHY you have no heat:

that gaping hole in your air box is on the cabin side of the heater core. meaning that on the other side (to the left) of the heater core, is the blower motor. that blower motor is supposed to blow air across either the Evaporator (in A/C mode) or the heater core (in heat mode) with the hole there, you cannot get "pressurized" so to speak, air up to your vents. it's all abou the path of least resistance. it's much easier for the air from the blower motor to escape through that hole, than it is to be piped up to the vents.

just fiber glass it up and you'll be fine. if you really wanna get ghetto with it, sheetmetal+ RTV sealer.
