Car over heated couple days back due to a a radiator leak. Replaced the radiator. Ran car, car ran 20-40 degrees hotter than usal (car would usaly never get over 160-170).Looked under the hood (at night) and saw a flash turned car off and got a flashlight saw the header had melted the 2spark plug wires.

Would this cause slight heat increase?

What wires and protectant would be recommended?
