I got mine from sjm and they were pretty nice. The only true advantage would be to clean up your engine bay and keeps carbon from being dumped back into your intake.

these are only necessary if your doing longtubes w/out emission fittings. you dont need to waste yoru money on the expensive ones online. get yoruself a peice of sheet metal and some metal sheers. take off the existing egr plates, trace around them on the sheet metal, and cujt them out. drill holes accordingly.

have fun

use the gaskets instead of the egr valve itself if you plan to make your own. Much easire to trace. I bought mine from UMI, but dont delete EGR if you arnt getting non-emission LT's

I ebayed my block off plates for like 15.00 shipped. But if you have access to some scrap sheet metal (aluminum) go for DIY block off plates they're very straight forward to fabricate.

Did you guys end up taking off the intake manifold to get to the EGR valve?

Nope, just a 10mm or 13mm wrench will get the nuts off the studs.

I forget which it was, AIR or EGR, but I took the factory plate that had a steel line running through it, dremeled the steel line and then plugged the resulting hole with a quarter and JB Weld. Cost me 25 cents and it's holding up damn good compared to the pricey block-off plates.
