Bottom end suggestions

Bottom end suggestions I am going over what I wanna do with my rebuild this summer. I plan on running either a comp XFI grind, or a custom BRE cam. Having the motor bored .030 over. I was looking for rebuild kits, and ran across the Summit kit. I plan on spraying a 150 shot on top of it, so here is my list of parts.

I am going to subsititute the pistons for a Mahle PowerPak

That brings the cost of the rebuild kit to about $900, I called and talked to them there at Summit.
Then for rods I plan on running these 6" Scat I-Beams

I plan on using all ARP hardware and having my stock crank polished. Think this will be good enough to handle about 350 on motor plus a 150 shot and upgrading the heads later on? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

do a 355 stroker. use the stock crank get it cut, polished balanced, use the eagle h beam 6" rods get srp or speed pro forged pistons. get all arp bolts, bearings, etc and you got yourself a nice bottom end

if im correct 6" rods are longer than stock and stock crank would have to be cut which resulting in a bigger stroke

i didnt think that 355's were strokers either, according to this build up, there was no crank work needed other than a bottom end balance job.

I thought a 6" rod on a stock crank would just lessen the rod angle in the bores and require a shorter piston to compensate for the longer rod...It won't increase displacement...In any event no matter what build you decide on I would over-build the hell out of the bottom end to take whatever you decide to throw at it...Good, high quality parts...I have a Callies, Oliver, JE combo that I've beaten on for 12 years with no issues...It wasn't cheap, but it doesn't owe me a dime now...and it just keeps getting faster...

stock crank is not a stroker...just bc its 30 over, just means it a few more cubic inches..
if it were me id hold off on wasting money on some i beams and those pistons...wait till you want to go with a badass setup...put a 503 in your motor, spray it with 150...and start ordering parts to build your motor...maybe on 100 until you have paid for the crank/rods/pistons then up it to 150 as your putting the new motor together...
i think we know how fast a cam plus 125 shot on a stock motor could be.....it plain flat hauls ***

Daniel, I figured those Mahle pistons with some forged i-beams would be more than enough to handle what I want to throw at it, do you think it wouldnt hold up to a cam, 150 shot, and heads later on?

idk its up to you, i know i would leave it how you have it now and spend that money on some nice eagle h beams/crank...and some nice pistons...the you can cam it and stuff...and you already have the parts for you new motor...at least something close to that...

Yeah, I will prob just do a stock rebuild with a 306 on the motor I have sittin there and then save and build a nice 383 next summer out of my motor, or maybe go LS series in it.
