Default for those of you that have deleted ac

is the delete pulley smaller than the factory ac compressor? the problem is im dropping the lt1 into my monte and the ac compressor is hitting the frame and i dont really want to notch it. but i also dont want to buy the ac delete pulley if it will not clear. are there any other options to delete the ac?

The belts do not change, the pulley it self is in the correct position to allow use of the stock belt.

Really? The one I have on the LT1 feels very loose after doing the !a/c!
And when I asked the guy at the parts store they do make a non-a/c belt for the Lt1...

I just put the a/c delete pulley on in my 67 elky, the pulley will let you use the factory belt...but the pulley looks alot smaller to me. And the guy at the auto parts store is wrong about the lt1 having a different belt...my catalog says theres only 1.

one of the parts stores by me said that there is two different belts also. one for the manual and one for the auto i think.

the actual differencebetween the two was only 3/8 of an inch.

i think both will actually work on both cars as the tensioner has more than enough room to make up the difference.
64 3/8 and 64 3/4 were the measures. Im actually using a 63 3/8 cause my alt pulley is a tad smaller and the stock belt would max out the tensioner and olny be barely tight.

Shameless plug:

I have an A/C delete pulley that is now excess (went to manual steering rack recently).

PM me if you want to buy it.

And yeah, if I remember correctly, belt size did not change.
