car starts somethimes?

car starts somethimes? when i go to start the car sometimes it wont start. When it doesnt i noticed that the security light on my cluster flashes. So i take the key out, slam the door and then the security light doesnt flash and the car will start. Anyone know what the problem could be? Im tired of having to mess around just to get my car to start. Thanks

i had the same problem with my camaro 
i just bought a new key and problem solved
try this:
clean the key
or buy a new one/get one made
bypass vats here: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#pass_key

so all of this trouble with the car starting sometimes is just the key? I guess i will just switch to my other key an hopefully i wont have anymore problems.
