MAP sensor problem
MAP sensor problem My MAP sensor reads a constant 10.4 Kpa regardless of rpm, which gives me a code 34 (high vacuum). Has anyone else had this? Does it sound like a problem with the sensor itself or the wiring? I checked the voltage of the 5v reference wire from the pcm and it was good.
I read that I should check the voltage of the green signal wire to verify if it is correct at the sensor and the pcm (which would probably tell me whether it is the sensor or wiring) What's the best way to go about that? should I just strip off the plastic covering in one section?

Yes, you want to check the signal wire to see if the data is getting to the connector. That will let you know if it's the wiring or the component. You don't need to strip any wires. The points on the multimeter are designed to poke through the rubber.
I believe I had this code once. I took off the MAP sensor, cleaned it up, made sure the rubber seal was on proper; and last time I checked the code went away.
