you want long tubes, trust me. shortys arent cuttin it for me. everyone seems to like pacesetter. they're relatively cheap and are decent quality. never heard anything bad about them. i agree with plaf 713, get the true duals. nothing sounds better than a set of trual duals on an lt1.

If you want the best then get jet-hots/hookers. And get em coated. If you're on a budget then get pacesetters coated.

Well you want the best go with Kooks. If you can't swing kooks go with Hookers or SLP's . But IDK I just never liked pacesetters don't be offended but my personal opinion is that there garbage. You look at the setup and diameters on them and that's what I read. Look at the hookers. They even design the headers to work around the steering linkage.

With the pacesetters you have to also bend them forcefully to fit up against the floor boards with the y pipe. That's is just insane imo. I've heard so many people tell me they have to bend them a little bit.

IDk I've saved for a little extra longer and I'm going with hookers at the end of this month. Hookers through my borla should sound nice.

Thats not very smart logic.
And what "portions" are you referring too?
If you have an SS all you have on us is the crappy SS Ram Air that has way to many bends and sucks in warm air, followed by a catback thats a little better then stock.
Its basically just a hood and some wheels.

Im pretty sure an SS, and SLP SS are two different cars...
Can someone verify?

SLP headers come coated, but they are way overpriced.
Do not get swayed by the SLP name, they are good, but not that good.
I do believe thier headers for Fbody's are stainless but I am not sure.

If they are not, Jet Hot LT's are a much better choice, because they are coated inside and out (unlike Pacesetter) and the Sterling coating is top quality.
If you can afford the big cheese, get Kook's Longtubes. They are TOP of the line headers

also the SS's was alot better then the Z28's in 96 and 97. Z28's were rated 275HP and the SS was 305HP.

Kooks! and ^ if u want to go by ratings 96-97 was 285 but we should all know that ratings don't mean anything!! yes, slp took z28's and gave them different wheels, suspension, spoiler, hood, a pathetic 'ram air' and catback, and some emblems. unless the emblems make power in the same fashion that graphics do on ricers, the ss have very little power increase over the z28

Incorrect.
Like the LS1, these numbers were highly underrated to make the 300hp vette seem more powerful, but it was a hoax.
Take of the crappy Fbody intake and stock LT1 catback, and they put down the same power.

get rid of that flowmaster , as for the best headers get qtp with the electric cutouts or kooks , slp but if your car is low then they will scrape cause they hang really low, hooker LT or Jet hot Lt. I just listed the best ones in order for ya but go with what your wallet will allow you to go. Qtp cost like a grand and kooks is up there with qtp and slp is like in the 700 range, hooker lt are cheap for like 500 i believe but sound good when open , pacesetters are cheap but good in quality. on a second note you could go to www.ls1sounds.com and see which one sounds the best to

pacesetter longtubes coated are right behind hooker in price, i think people underestimate pacesetters, ive heard good and bad things about them, but yet ive heard good and bad things about a lot of performance parts, whichever brand you go with make sure they are coated and they are longtubes, end of discussion
