How do you change Pass. Side O2?

Default How do you change Pass. Side O2?

I shoved my arm up there with a wrench, and basically after that, I had no room to break it loose. I was able to get another wrench around the end of the one on the O2 and use the exhaust pipe as a fulcrum point, and that still didn't budge :\ Am I supposed to drop the damn Y pipe, or wtf?

dropping the y-pipe will free up a lot of space. That's what I would do. even when I change plugs, i get the Y outta my way.

you buy headers!!!! lol. It's hard, so you may want to try to get a shorter wrench. That side is known to weld itself in, especially if you have an exhaust leak.

Well, when I changed the pass side, it came right out w/o any effort. It was blissful lol. Yet, the pass side is causing double the grief So it's leveling out the ease from the first

Get a swivel and alot of extentions.Put the swivel on the 02 socket and just keep adding extentions untill they reach up above the back of the altenator.Once it breaks loose its usually easy to back out.Sometimes its tricky to get the extentions on to the swivel,so dont flip out just count to ten and go to a happy place..........LOL
Also 1/2" drives work better with an adapter to the swivel or socket.And here is another weird trick,vaseline your forearm and it will slid easier through the manifold and fender area this also works great for changing plugs.

Well, I don't have any problems getting my arm in there from under the car, and I don't know WHERE my O2 socket went to, not that I have enough swivels to do that anyway :\

The vaseline trick is for going through the top.On my 94z28 I couldnt get to it from the bottom.
