Default Installing Headers

Im thinking about buying pacsetter headers for my 97 Camaro SS....Does anyone know how hard it is to install them? the part # is 72C1337.......thanks for any help

u got to tke off alternator,steering arm,starter,and plugs out,jack up the car high as u can get.driver side went in fromthe bottom for me but the pass.side wouldn,t i had to take pass. side motor mount bolt out and jake up the pass. side of the motor up to get the header in from the bottom. it's not so hard, just time summing have fun a be patient

you dont really need to unmount the engine from what ive heard.

im gonna put mine in this week and i only plan to take the valve covers, alternator, starter, oil filter and other little things.

Im doing mine also, but leaving starter in.- im lifting up the engine to put in the polyurethane motor mounts though..

Quick Trip long tubes- No emissions fittings..

I didnt have to remove the starter but we did remove the steering arm,alternator,oil pressure unit,oil filter and the pass side valve cover

I won't lie. They are a PITA.
After its all said and done you will look back on it and think "oh it wasn't that bad" but while you are living through it its hell.

Not to discourage you, you should do this. Just have a really good supply of tools and make sure your mother is not around to hear you swearing.

i did it without messing with the motor mounts. worked fine. def have to remove the alt, i took off the pass valve cover too. go ahead and put new plugs in while your doing this, its a pain in the *** with headers.

To me it was not that big of a deal. Six hour job, if you have an idea of what to do. That in mind, spray the exhaust manifold bolts with PB a good 24 hours prior to working on the thing, just in case. I removed alternator, steering knuckle and plugs.
