Just call the man and talk to him. Tell him about your car, and how you use it. He should help you decide what will work best for you.

I do not believe that is the intent of their rating. Very few cars put that kind of power to the wheels.

You really have to look at what your are going to do are you building the engine any further H/C or anyting. Also what size stall are you using and what STR.

I love this built to hold X amount of HP, at what weight? Dude there are few shops only with a reputable name IMO. Buy it once and be happy, it will cost a good penny but well worth it. I have a local guy but he does not really ship, try Rossler.

well i was thinking of a H/C package or maybe just bolting on a STS turbo system. would be happy to be around 400 HP to the wheels.

i knnow a guy that builds race 4l60-e, one recently dynoed over 1200rwhp...and another was running 9.70 in a full weight trans am for an entire season, taken apart to get checked out and reassembeled as nothing had abnormal wear...
i personally have had on built from him and ran high tens for a season..before than i had it for 2 years of daily driving and high 11's...

now im getting another one built...
race build (1000)
pro race only cost 1400...

i can build a 4l60-etransmission that will hold over 2500 hp

a transmission cant be rated by rwhp! CAN NOT....what if a car makes 500 rwhp...and weighs 2800 pounds...not alot of stress...what if a car makes 500 hp and is a truck that weighs 5200 pounds? which ones goana see more punishment?
point made

The guy I know builds them for Trucks, they have a 2500 Silverado with a 408 in it running 11's in the 1/4. He is building my Transmission when I get my 402 done. He is the one that built the one that I currently have for sale.

Rossler does the 4L60E for Jeff Green's Impala 4400lbs and has trapped 146mph on a 9.6 second pass. Jeff says he has it refreshed annually but has never had it fail. He is still working on the tuning and thinks he can better his current best ET at the Pump Gas Drags coming up. You would be hard pressed to find a better testament to what a 4L60E can do in competent hands.
ProBuilt Automatics the guy who did my tranny over 3 years ago has a handful of 9 second f-bodies running his trannies, Ed Wright and Rick Abare off the top of my head, I know there is a low 9 second sprayed LS1 as well.

FLT is another top 4L60E shop.

I've heard nothing but bad things about FTL's, their best ones tend to fail in 11 second cars for some reason...
