Default Cam Help!!!

I have stage two ported and polished heads on a 94 LT1 m6 with all boltons. I have the flow numbers for the heads somewhere. I am currently running a CC306 cam and was wondering if there is a better choice. I have been told that i should look into newer technology. I am not worried about driveability as the car only gets driven as a track/ weekend cruiser.

2 words...custom grind. The gm847 is a little bigger than the 306 but with a custom you can go as big as you like and it will match your heads, have a better power band, pretty much whatever you want. Hence the name custom. (not bein a smart *** BTW)

+1 for custom definitely if you also have the flow numbers

You may gain a little just because gm847's specs are a tad bit more aggressive, but I dont think you will be able to feel it. If I were you, I wouldnt go to all that trouble just to gain a couple of hp. IF you do another cam swap, I would def do like the rest and go custom grind. There are many places that will custom grind you a cam for not much more than an off the shelf cam.

EDIT: I dont know what other mods you have, but that money can def be spent elsewhere. ie suspension, gears, stall is auto...and the list goes on. Its been said before, but HP isnt the only thing needed to be quick!

What did you do with the cc306(power & times)? I'm asking because I just put on in my motor. Can't wait to get it to the track next week.
