Brett with that set up, it'll go 9s I bet. Carb isnt an easy way out though, gotta know how to tune those things to get the most power out of them.

My 2 cents is its not imposible but not likely. My 396 with AFR's and duels. (Brief discription) is barely hitting that.

You don't need 575 RWHP to pull that depending on how heavy your car is... There is an LS1 based Trans Am in my area with like 490 RWHP thru a TH400/9" combo and went 10.18 all motor..... car was like 3300 with him in it.....

but if you're talking 6 speed car, 3500-3600 lb raceweight, yeah probably 575.....

As far as the other car i'm thinking hell no with shorties.... if you haven't figured out how much power you pick up with long tubes then you're not in the know.... and people that aren't in the know don't just fall down into 499 RWHP dyno #'s.....

even better on his part then, that's roughly 17% drivetrain loss in an auto Vs. 13% in a manual, so it's pretty impressive JoeO did that.

If I go carb Niel I have the guy who can tune it, all part of the deal, he's one of the best around, in fact he's the one who thinks I should go that route. I'm still debating FAST XFI and Moe Bailey tuning, etc. We'll see soon enough.

I wouldn't discount shorties altogether though...I can't think of his name, but he's friends with Injuneer, a mod on Camaroz28.com and he made some BIG numbers with the ASM shorties...I want to say 700 rwhp...I'll have to go over and ask him...
