Default Bad hyd lifters

I´m trying to get my car to function properly, the engine needs to spin to the 6500prm range

My lifters can´t seem to function properly,i have a bad ticking noise in my valvetrain on the passanger side, how can i determine if the lifters are bad?

I noticed that when i was seting them to zero lash that there is no plunge(spring/bounce) in them(like the spring is collapsed) I adjust them cold?
When i´m setting the lash and spinning the pushrods with my finger and tightening they just come to a allmost dead stop like they have bottomed tha lifters out?

The problem is you are using the "spin the pushrod" method. That basically always results in way too tight.
If a lifter is bad it is because you ruined it by setting it way too tight.

You have roller rockers with poly locks right? basically when they contact the rocker that is zero lash. How many turns past that did you have to turn the poly lock with the wrench before you felt resistance on the pushrod?

I know tha the "spin the pushrod" crap is in a lot of online manuals and such, It is BAD information reguarless of how common it is.

I do it till the Push Rod seats in the pockets, and then 1/10 turn past that.

What lifters are you running?

Last year I ran half a turn of preload with 7/16" studs and the car ran well enough to run 11.9s, over the winter though I did come to the conclusion that was too tight and set them looser this spring, no real results on wether it helped yet though. I adjust cold too.

If you went 1/2 turn past poly lock contact then another 1/2 to set preload they would be much too tight for those rpms.

I should say I do not spin that high.
Last season the motor did rev that high a few times but then I determined the shift kit needed a tweak because it had been setup when I had no plans for the car being this fast. Once I adjusted the shift kit the rpm rise after the shift was commanded is MUCH less so it is no longer reving that high, not even 6400 during the shift anymore.
