valve locks and shims?

valve locks and shims? alright guys, got a good question for yall. im running a LPE 219/219 560/560 cam (p#74219) and LPE dual valve springs. it says on there website to use 740-16 comp cams retainers, alright got that, but it says to use either 611-16 comp or 613-16 comp valve locks depending on valves. my heads have the stock valves but i dont know whitch locks i need. the only difference i can find in the two are the 611-16 are recessed for a lash cap and the 613-16's arent. i dont really know what that means, lol. whitch one do i need? also on regarding shims, what exactly do i need here? this is my first cam job so im learning as i go. i already have the cam, springs and 1.6 RR's but i need the rest of the stuff to do the job. any and all help will be greatly apreciated!
I believe you need th 613-16 retainers as our valves dont need lash caps. I could be wrong but then again i havent needed anything like for my cam swap. As far as shims, you might not need any. The best real way to find out, is to call LPE and see what they recommend the install height is for those springs. Then buy yourself a valve spring height micrometer and measure them. That way you make sure everything is set up correctly.
*EDIT* Please make sure to post a sound clip or video of that cam as there is not one anywhere on the net. I searched high and low a few years ago because i bought that cam for my old third gen and i still want to know how it sounds.

preciate the help man, ill call lpe tommorow and see what they say and ill be sure too put a sound clip up when i get it done! thats another reason why i decided to go with that one, you dont ee it much, i wanted to be a lil different instead of going with a hotcam, lol.
i have a video of my edelbrock 2108 which is similar..218/218 525 lift but with the rollers is now 555..i will see if i can put it up..lpe said my cam is almost identical to theirs..it sounds great
