Stupid Opti spark..

Stupid Opti spark.. i have a scan master in the car and the last couple weeks it has been running really funny like seems to kinda miss fire at wide open throttle and just doesnt want to idle right at times... The scan master was shooting codes 16 and 36.. One is opti low resolution and the other is opti high resolution... But i was out last night after i reset the computer and the codes went away and it was running really strong and not miss firing and then i parked it to talk to a couple of guys and when the cops showed up to kick us out like usual th car just wouldnt start... i sat there for 2 hours waiting fot eh damn flat bed to pick my car up lol... she got home ok and the new opti is on the way lol....
How old are the cap and rotor? People are quick to curse the opti without considering the neglect they put it by never replacing the cap and rotor. They are wear items just like a spark plug. If you are getting resolution codes I bet the cap and rotor a badly worn and carbon tracked and the spark is sometimes arcing the wrong way and going down through the electronics.

i got the opti from a guy from this site that said the opti only had less then 8,000 miles on it.. and i;ve only had it on the car for about the last 4,000 miles so maybe 12,000 that i know of... I was thinking about going to the del teg set up but i dont think i will...
