Default Oil Pressure Problem

I am sure that this question has been here before, but I am having a probelm with my 93 Formula Firebird. The problem is, that whenever I need to come to an abrupt stop, the oil pressure seems to drop to zero and the 'check gauges' light comes on. I dont know why it would be doing this, but once the car sits for a moment and lets the oil settle again in the rest of the block, the oil pressure goes right back up to normal. Anny comments or questions would be helpful. Thanks.

These cars are notorious for stupid **** like that. It's probably the sender but if you're concerned, I would check oil press with a mechanical gauge.

Make sure you have enough oil in it and that it's not all sloshing to the front of the pan when you stomp on the brakes. My oil pressure is wonky as well, and I'm not sure what it could be. Our sensor is down by the oil filter. It's a long cylindrical jobber.

i dont know, but it really pisses me off, all the work I have done to this thing. Especially after doint the distributor, what a nightmare. It just started doing it out of no where about 200 miles ago, so I always slow down really slowly and avoid the hard braking.

sounds like the oil pickup tube. Drain the oil and tap on the pan to see if it came off.
