how about this mild cam
how about this mild cam hey guys i have a cam that i have had sittin on my shelf, i would like opinions on how you think it would perform in my Lt1 m6 car of course with a tune,longtubes and other bolt on that are typical.
235 @.050
480* lift
114* lobe center
i will use 1.6's so the lift will be more like 513,like i said its a mild cam from back in the day ZZZ-ZZ2 crate eng. 345 hp @flywheel.not lookin for high numbers at all just a little more pull and the cam is just sittin there!

That's a lot of duration without much lift. I think that means slow ramp rates and therefore a mild cam, but I'm not sure how it will perform. Today the trend is going towards less duration with more lift.

The funny thing is that they switched from the 235/235 to the 208/221 cam and it made the same amount of power, but with more low-end and better idle quality. The 208/221 cam did this because it had more aggressive ramps. I would throw that cam in the garbage. The Crane 210/224 cam is very similar and coincidentally works extremely well with the LT1. It held the cam-only record for years!
