Default Radiator Gunk

Well today i think i gave my formula the first flush of its life. I washed out the reservior with a hose and this muddy lookin green **** came out. The radiator wouldnt drain all the way so i put a hose in it and it also blew out a **** load of the muddy lookin stuff. Well my car has been runnin hot and losing power and sputtering...maybe this is why its happening? Im puttin some water wetter in it right now and fillin it with pink, Ill let you know what happens.

I had the same thing happen to my Z. The tank on the side of the radiator was all gunked up. I ended up buying a new radiator, which sucks spending that much Fixed the problem though.

Dex-Cool + Green antifreeze = goo.

I've had some gunky stuff in my overflow tank, but luckily that hadn't been sucked into the cooling system.

yea what really sucks is after all that work i only put the cap on vented and it blew off. While i was hosing off the coolant all of a sudden the engine shut off and i havent been able to start it for about 4 and a half hours now.

Flush out the block too. Pull the drain plugs on it or at least the water pump.

Also make sure you bleed it after you refill.

Oh please. Buy and install a 5 dollar flush kit, and backflush well. Then use HD rad cleaner, then flush again through the flush kit.

No need to take the WP off... and you ought to know better than to wet down the front of an LT1, especially with the non-vented opti.

I agree with the last post. Get a flush kit install it, and remove thermostat and put back together. Then flush your heart out.

If you really want to flush even more, then remove the knock sensor on the block

Does the 94 formulas have a vented opti? Cause im trying to decide what the hell the problem is...im almost positive its the opti. I've givin it enough time to dry out. I think im just gonna break down and buy some msd wires, blaster cap, and opti.
