I´m referting to the LT1 engine with ECM

I´m at 6800rpm now on street motor with the opti and ECM

The ECM stops at 7250,can it be reprogrammed to spin higher?Where is the limit?

Mine 6900-7000

Ed's has a new 350 that he built that uses the opti and FAST system, it spins 8800 At the IHRA National this past weekend the rotor flew apart on him. This was a stock piece since then it was replaced with a stock piece and he pop rivet the rotor to keep it from flying apart. This has happened to me once so far on the stock piece.

The 350 made just a tad over 447 through a 6000 converter A3 TH350, stock TB, stock Heads, Stock Compression. He is running SS/JA class.

Go back to reply number 6 in this thread.

This is the one hard limit of this engine management system, no amount of reprogramming fixes it.

Mine old 383" been to 9000 once, 8800 a few times with the new F.A.S.T. ECM. The 350" has seen 8800 a few times. (Only has two passes on it, and a few dyno pulls.) A stock LT1 PCM won't go past 7200/7250. Doesn't matter what the tables go to. I hacked a cal with 9000 RPM tables, didn't matter. The injector drivers apear to be too slow as the PCM stops consistently triggering the injectors after about 7200. I have seen boxes that would not quite go 7000 with the same cal in them. I had one box (still do actually) that would go just past 7200 every time. It was in my car before the F.A.S.T. I guard it with my life. <G>

'87/'92 TBI pickup trucks only have 3600 rpm tables, and go well past 5000. Only thing the tables ending at a given RPM is that you can't make tuning changes after that RPM. '96/'2000 Vortec trucks have 6000 RPM spark tables and 6400 RPM P.E. fuel tables, but won't rev past 5400/5500. It's not the RPM where the tables stop. Wish it were that simple.
