car wont start.... need help fast!!!

car wont start.... need help fast!!! my friends 1996 ss just does not start, he turns the key, everything turns on, even the fuel pump, but there is not click from the starter. After a few times of turning the key, it starts right up like nothing is wrong. im confused someone chime in.

Well my opti just went to **** im pretty sure and my starter cranked over it just wasnt sending spark to any of the plugs or wires. You can take the ignition module off and have it checked. Its on the coil pack held by two screws.
it might be a vats problem, but then again, the engine turns over in most cases just doesnt start. if it doesnt turn over or do anything....it might be the starter. ive seen that before and act that very same way. and it very well could be the ignition module. its not on the opti, its on the coil pack mounted in the front of the driver side head. look there. when it is doing the problem, take something and hit the starter and see what happens. if its ust not spinning over, it isnt the optispark. its something before the optispark. so dont worry about taking that out....way to much work
