Help! Good LT1 Shops in NJ? Hi, new to this forum. I hope someone can lead me in the right direction here.
I am looking for a experinced LT1 mechanic in NJ that is priced decently. I have a 1994 TA GT 6spd that I would like to get back on the road. It has not been driven in 5+ years. It is a whole long story of why it has been off so long but it has been in the garage, covered. I will be 30 years old in 3 weeks, and for my gift my wife is giving me getting the TA back in the road. I have had this car since I was 19 and on June 22 I will be 30. It is the 1st real car I ever bought myself, and still has only 57,000 miles. Most of those miles were driving back and forth to Kansas fron NJ when I was in the Army. I can see alot of people knock the LT1 over the LS1 but that car is still fun. There were several solo trips where I drove the car at 120+ miles an hour for hundreds of miles in the middle of the night. All this with the car bone stock. About five years ago I had a shop in NJ put headers and exhaust on the car. When I got the car back the intake was leaking. They denied it saying thats how it came. To make a long story short I replace the intke manifold gasket, had everything back together. I was hooking up the last hose to the radiator and the nipple snapped off. I drained the all the coolant out of the system pulled the radiator, alternator, and a/c and then life got in the way. The car is in the same position it has been for the last 4 1/2 years.
At this point I am sure that there are other issues. I/e gas in the tank for 5+ years, optispark, battery, etc.
Any good recomm. who be a big help. I am located in South River, NJ. This
is in middlesex county near New Brunswick.
