1.6 rocker help

1.6 rocker help hey guys, i want to swap some 1.6 RR in my car, but im not sure what to go with. i know i should swap my springs when i do the rocker arms which springs should i get? i think i found the right rockers but i have no clue on the springs. thanks for any advice

you need new hydraulic roller lifters, preferebly comp r's, but it's not necessary to change them, comp cams dual valve springs are preferable replacements that serve nicely. hydraulic roller rockers if you are sticking with the stock cam. might check into replacing rocker arm studs as well. on well worn motors with hard miles, the studs will sometimes break within the rocker arm trunion area. arp makes nice studs that are very strong. what cam are you going with? what lobes, ramp rates, duration, lift, etc?

I second the cc-918 springs. They're for the LSx motors, but drop right onto the LT1. DON'T get the comp r lifters. If yours are in good shape, you can keep them.
Crane has a spring kit that comes with everything and they will handle just about any shelf cam you can throw at them. 10308-1 is the part number.
I would also recommend staying away from the Proform Rockers. They are pretty cheaply made. Get the Comp Cams NSA 7/16" Pro Magnum RR and some ARP 7/16" studs.

im not doing a cam swap anytime soon. i just want to change my rockers and springs.
and are the rockes i found on summit good? will they work for my car?
can someone help me out with a link to some springs i dont know what im looking for.

IMO, do not buy aluminum rockers, its a long explanation why, but they IMO again, are not up to daily driver tasks.
Get some steel ones, I run CAT performance 1.65 Steel Non Self Aligning Full Roller rockers, they are usually about $150 for a set for a SBC.
Comp Cams makes a good rocker too, but they are really expensive, and they are the same exact design as the CAT rockers

Are those stamped steel or are they like the pro magnum chromemoly ones?
Where did you get them, I never heard of cat performance?

Go to Catpep.com, I bought them from a good buddy of mine who has an Ebay store, his name is Round88 on ebay, good guy to deal with, he will give you a really good deal
1.7 is a big ratio, I dont know about the LT1 head, but on the Pontiac head you have clearance issues with the pushrod geometry. you have to elongate the pushrod hole in the head, making it egg shaped.
Don't bother with anything bigger than 1.6s, it's a pita..
I am currently running comp cams promag 1.6s and have no problems, along with 918 beehives, but mine were purchased over a year ago, others have not been so lucky with the 918s that were purchased recently, after they changed manufacturers:
