Default Grinding in rearend?

Is it typical in LT1's to have like a whining/grinding noise in low rpms or when they take off? The car shifts with no problem but when i take off it sounds like the gears are grinding. Also, when i put the car in first at about 25 mph i can feel and hear grinding through the shifter. Its not like when you miss a gear its a slight but very noticable grinding sound. Any ideas fellas?

I have the same issue going on with my A4 Z28, trans shifts smooth, car runs top notch.. but the rear end makes a grinding noice that sounds like a fat lady scooting around in a leather chair. I can't even break the tires free on take-off, but it'll launch hard.

I have the same problem, though my gear doesn't grind it just sounds like the transmission.

The car drives fine and the sound usually goes away at 1300-1400 rpm but yea my friends say it sounds like a tank.

I just think it means that my transmission may be going eventually.
