esc check engine light problem

esc check engine light problem

the light keeps coming on and it says esc module failure....what that be and would it cause it to randomly die at an idle at red lights???? any help please

ESC = Electronic Spark Control module
Also known as ICM (Ignition control module)

Its got the coil bolted to it and yes it can cause the car to randomly die.
