Well, I've run into a little bit of a problem. Heres my dilemna. I do not want to run the optispark, mainly because I have had endless issues since the day I bought my car with them, so I purchased a distributor/crank trigger setup. I have been emailing Brian Macy from horsepower connection, and the harness that they make keeps the factory computer, as we know, but this setup will not work for me as I will not be running an optispark. So back to square one. I basically have 2 options, correct me if I am wrong.
1: Scrap the distributor/crank trigger setup, and run the optispark anyways. I could pull the high voltage away from the optispark by converting to Delteq, correct??
2: Keep the distributor/trigger, and make my own setup, which could take who knows how long? How do I control the 4l60e and all of my accessories?
Any input on this situation? Thanks a lot, Nick.

By the way, thanks for all of the extremely good info. I think this is a pretty valuable thread.

As far as runnin the Delteq. It hasn't worked for anyone using the XFI. Seems there is an invisible rev limiter kicking in on the opti box of the delteq in the range of 4200-5200 rpm's. I had the Delteq but unfortunately I couldn't confirm it because I sold it after the fact I finally got the car running (long story) but if you go to CZ28 and look in the "Forced Induction" section there is a pretty big thread dedicated to that problem. Look under my screen name "zblkhellrzr" and it should pop up.

Crank trigger can't be used along w/ the stk ecu and XFI? Why not? What are you using off the stk ecu that the XFI can't control, aside from the stk gauges?

Really the only thing I can not control at this point is the transmission. Now I believe FAST makes a transmission control unit. Will this work for the 4l60e? Maybe I should just give the guys at FAST a call. I'm sure somebody out there has done exactly what I am trying to do.

you could ditch the 4l60e ... unless its already built. im sure it would end up dying soon anyways..

Well, it is already built. If it ever went I was going to replace it with a stage III performabuilt, which I think is rated to 800 to the tires or so. The weak link in the car right now is definitely the 10 bolt out back, which I am sure to be replacing, likely the first time at the track. So if possible, I would like to run the trans that is in the car. I am going to get ahold of the guys at FAST tomorrow and see what my options are. I now have a place to mount the ECU, just finished removing all of my HVAC unit. What a pain in the ***!! Took about 4 or 5 hours of removing what seemed like hundreds of bolts, but its out!
