Can the LS1 steering shaft be used directly into the LT1? I mean, w/o the rack? Getting rid of the rag joint is my reasoning.

^^I was thinking about that.. they both are the same length. Try it and see, I don't see why it shouldn't work.

What's holding me back seriously is parts..everything is paid for or I have the money on hand to cover it no problem, and I am waiting on parts to get here so I can finish up.
I must be doin something right where Money isn't a problem..

Must be nice. I just got the motor over here on a stand. No money to buy the "extras" I want to add before stabbing it in the car.
Pretty sad it got here 3 weeks ago? It had been sitting in my truck with a tarp wrapped around it.

So have you ever thought of doing some wire harness sets and selling them off for other people attempting the swap.

I have actually..let me finish up this project and see if anything pops up with it. I believe all the bugs have been worked out, the Harnesses are actually pretty easy to build. I can drop a LS1 into anything now..

It is my understanding that the flats of the steering shafts are 90 degrees off. So if you put a LS1 shaft on a LT1 rack your steering wheel will be turned while the car is going straight.

Just buy a rag join eliminator, mine was around $25 I think. Unbalanced engineering sells them.
