Default Headers? How Much Will They Help?

I have a '95 Camaro Z28 A4 with a dynomax muffler, street tune, throttle body airfoil and 3.73 gears. I found a set of hooker headers for $100 and I was wondering just how much they will help me out performance wise at the tracks. Last time I ran my camaro at the tracks, which was also my first time, I had ran a 13.84 on street tires. I was thinking that a set of drag radials would be a better way out, along with a moroso cold air intake or soemthing. I have like $800 that I can waste on mods (not that $800 is alot). I don't want to do anything big because she's my daily driver... Any suggestions?

Headers will improve the car alot, make sure they are for LT1 motors. Also make sure the flange isnt warped, a header leak will effect performance and driveablilty. If Long tubes you need a Y pipe to fit, you cannot run Cats like normal.

Also a tune from pcmforless, or Madwolf wouldnt hurt. Just make sure you dont break header bolts, and make sure you clean the surface area throughly

I had Jet hot LT's which are based on the Hooker design.

The only spot you could put a cat on was half way down the DS tunnel, you cannot put it on the driver side, even a small bullet cat the bracing gets in the way and the fuel and brake lines are there. Either way it will fail visual inspection, its not where its supposed to be legally.

Headers were probably my favorite mod. I'm guessing tires would probably give you better ETs, but headers are more fun.

with pacesetters my cats fit about a foot after the collector on each side. they werent even bullet style. and it might not pass visual inspection, but it can save you from the huge no-cat fine
