Stock, never heard of any one swapping TBs out for gas, the factory LT1 intake has a 52mm opening, that would be more than enough on your car, if you want a 58mm you need to port the TB openings.

the stock opening is 48mm but the intake can except a 52mm but your right about the port matching for a 58mm

I'm also curious about this.

Will a 58mm throttle body provide any gains for a bolt on only car, or would it just be a waste of money? I have a CAI, smooth elbow, LT headers, catback, 160 thermo, and a tune.

Does the little airfoil thingy provide any gains? Is that just a gimmick too?

The throttle body is a waste of money at your power level, the airfoil is a waste at almost any power level.

At your point you need gears, or if you're auto a stall and gears

I figured as much.

I assumed the big throttle body was only suited for cars with huge cams and really ported heads.

I've already got 3.73 gears. I'm just looking for other simple bolt on mods that are actually effective. Performance marketers are shameless about scamming people.

You'll gain throttle response on any level setup. I sure noticed it on my TPI going to 58mm. But throttle response doesn't = more power. You'll gain some, I won't lie, but it's not like putting in a cam If you have full exhaust setup already done, then it'd be wise to get at LEAST the 52mm and a good CAI. Your motor needs to breathe, and letting it exhale doesn't matter if it can't inhale
