OBD1 Conversion ?
OBD1 Conversion ? will the OBD2 connection in the car work with an OBD1 conversion? I need to get the car emission tested and they plug in to the OBD2 connection and I need to know if there scanner will be able to read my OBD1 conversion PCM. I'm guessing probably not so I will have to get the stock PCM tuned also. Which brings me to another question. I am going to be getting a dyno tune here soon and am wondering if I should just get the OBD2 PCM tuned. how much of a difference would there be with a dyno tuned OBD2 pcm vs. an OBD1 dyno tuned pcm. my mods are in my sig if that matters at all.

Not to hijack the thread but the question pops up and there may be some conventional wisdom here I am missing, why did you do the OBD1 conversion in the first place?
I've got an OBD1 system myself (95 Caprice takeout) and like it because it's only got two O2 sensors and can be tuned using TunerCat, but are there any other benefits to OBD1 over OBDII I'm not aware of?
It sounds like you're fairly indifferent to whether you use either PCM which makes me think in hind sight you've decided the OBD I conversion wasn't worth it.
Again, don't want to hijack and I'm sorry I can't offer you any knowledge-based advice.

no problem man. basically the obd1 has less sensitive to stuff. basically it has less trouble codes and is generally thought to make a few more hp and easier to tune. i got it because i did not have to send in my pcm to be reprogrammed so i had no downtime, because at the time i needed the car.
