Default lifter problem on a LE2 TA

I have a 97 WS6 trans am wit the LE2 heads, cam, and ported intake. I have comp cam R lifters that keep breaking on me. What happens is the internals of the lifter pretty much shoot out of the lifter. I rev my car to 6800 Rpm and am not sure if that is the problem or not. My question is why this is happening and what lifter would you get to replace the comp cam r's cause i know others were having problems with this lifter. Thanks in advance.

How much do you crank down to adjust the lifter? i.e. 1/4 turn,, 1/2 turn etc past zero?

Get rid of those lifters asap. You're probably running way too much preload which kills them. I'd go with the Caddy Racing lifters for the LS7 if you can find them. There are a few threads on here about them.
