Lightbulb Removing the Rear window!?

Have any of you tried removing the Rear Heavy window in your coupe or T-Tops F-body??
Then replace it with an after market fiber glass window or just replacing it with something lighter to help in weight reduction??
Any ideas?

Why would you want to reduce the weight of the rear wheels? And plus I've removed a hatch before and they're pretty light as is and I'm pretty sure they're already fiberglass and I dont think anyone makes an aftermarket lighter one

Im assuming hes talking about the window glass itself and replacing it with say lexan or something thats super light...I dont know anything about that but was just clarifying maybe what you are trying to replace exactly.

Nope, Im not that hardcore as I have heard the lighter materials scratch very easily and I DD my T/A (plus its not fast yet haha) but Im sure some of the full out drag guys and gals on here have replaced all windows to save what weight they can. I would try posting this in something like the Drag forum where some of the really fast/weight conscious people spend their time.

Check for speedglass. I seen it in Jegs once, they claimed 70 pounds off when used in front and back glass.

Speedglass is supposed to be the best, but you wont find anything that is street legal though. If that matters to ya.

a few guys on frrax have put poly(think it was speedglass) on their f-bodies, but those were full on race cars, and it doesn't exactly just replace the glass.
