fan switch=a/c issues?

fan switch=a/c issues? Anyone else that is running a manual fan switch have A/C issues???
I'm told its mostly the fact that the amount of refrigerant is incorrect in my car, but that my fan switch may also be a culprit. The mechanic said he cleared a code out, and that it would have to trip twice in one cycle to stick in the PCM. I've been running the switch for over two years, and only had a problem with the a/c a month ago.........
Anyone ever hear something like this? That turning your fans on below what the factory has set, will set codes????
On the snap on scanner it was saying things about fan requests, yes and no and such......

Nobody???
I know I've ran it like this for 2+ years, so I'm wondering why my A/C stopped only a month ago, I suppose after the VAC and refill next week we will see what its doing.
