intake conversion

has anyone tried putting an LS style intake manifold on an LT1 before? fabricating it and all too so itll bolt up.

i want to mold my own if i keep the car. i just wanted to see if anyones tried doing it before.

there are companies that wil happily make you a composite intake for your car, all you have to do is provide the completed design in some form of CAD and the thousands of dollars they will charge for set up.
it would be cheaper/easier to just buy a sheet metal intake and call it a day.

Right on, but I think in most cases sheet metal would be complete overkill. I think a carb intake converted to fuel injection would be an alternative but may come out close to the same $$$ wise by the time you buy all the components.

It's not happenin with the LSX Intakes..I'll get a pic of the bottom of the Intake for you, you will see why.
The Stock LT1 Intake is actually pretty damn good for what it is..I would leave it.

i dont know, im the "inventor" type. i experiment with **** with the car. hell if i had the money and tools i would do LS6 heads on it and make them work.

Some things can't be done though..there is a big difference in these 2 Engines. Here is some pics for you to look at, the Heads and the Block so you can see the differences. If you have any technical questions, feel free to ask, I have been playin with the LSX stuff recently..
