Default Timing Cover When Running an Electric Water Pump?

I'm in the process of running an electric water pump I have the timing chain cover off and the sprockets. Two things I don't understand though. The sprocket for the water pump that runs through the block how can I get that off? Also how do I plug the hole in the timing chain cover?

Thanks.

,Nick

On mine, the top sprocket came off with two small bolts (same size torx as the cam retainer plate) and I used a hammer to tap it out. Im pretty sure the intake has to be off for it to pull out though. As for the timing cover, I took it to my uncle and he welded the hole closed. Just find a local shop that can weld aluminum and you'll be fine. I would also pick up new seals for the cover before you put it back on, just to be on the safe side.

I had my intake off at the time so I just took a hammer and punch to the back of the waterpump drive. came out with one decent hit.

as far as the timing cover, I simply JB Welded a freeze plug into the cover and the back of the waterpump. now that I have those off again for a new engine, I'll be having them welded up.

I pulled my wp drive off with the intake on and did it with the claw side of a hammer (prying). As for the hole, I used a quarter and silicone to seal it up.
