Need Help Choosing Stall

Default Need Help Choosing Stall

I have a 1995 Camaro A4 with 143,000 miles on the clock. The owner I had got it from was the original owner and I know he never really got on it. Not tryin' to be all mean but the owner was a feminine male so I know this car was never abused. Anyways... The only mods I have done to the car are 3.73 gears and a tune and I'm wanting to put long tube headers, a y-pipe, a nice cat-back exhaust and a stall within the next couple of weeks to month. This is my daily driver and I'll be taking it back and forth to college soon, so I don't want to do anything big here, just something that would drop a couple of tenths off my et. What would you guys recomend? I know this may be a stupid question but what exactly does a stall do? I know it doesn't let you take off until you have reached that certain amount of rpms but like what exactly is the point? Thanks for the help.

it also multiplies the torque. look in the Auto transmission for the write up on how it works. for a DD i would say go with a Vigilante 3000-3200 stall. theyre a little pricey but supposed to be the best thing out. ill be gettin a 3200 next month.

I am in the same boat, I drive my car everyday and alot on the highway. I was thinking a 3000 stall would be good for a DD.
Did you start out with 2:73 gears?
How was the performance improvement with the 3:73?
I can roast the tires through first which is like 40mph, so I can only image what it will do with a gear.

for a DD I would just do your basic bolt ons, CAI,Headers, exhuast, and maybe a 3k stall...I cam'd my DD cause I only drive about 1 mile to and from work

Yeah stock my car had 2.73 gears. I never taken the car to the tracks with the stock grears. I notived a BIG difference after the gear change. It accelerated faster and I'll spin 'em all of 1st and 2nd.
