Default What could it be?

I was driving home last night and stopped at a redlight. When it turned green i put it in first went up to about 2K and went to shift to second and the car buckled a bit and died. I tried starting it up and it would turn over and try but never fire. I tried jump starting it cause i was still moving and still nothing. When i pushed the car to the side of the road and sat and waited for my buddy to get there i noticed a puddle of dirty water coming from underneath the car. What would cause the car to do this?

I was think the waterpump sprung a leak and got on the opti. I have no idea whats wrong with the car. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Got a similar problem with my hubby's Dodge truck this weekend. Got no spark, replaced ignition module, spark plugs, coil, cap, rotor, etc. But still nothing, pulled the distributor again to check the ignition module again, and the ring under it that triggers the module was in pieces in the distributor body!!.
I know its not really relevent to your problem, but ours was definitely ignition related (which by the way stopped the fuel too as it works on the same signal).
Did you check the coolant level to see if you'd lost any? (suggesting the water pump did leak).
