Having problems and need opions.

well the other night me and my buddy were ridin around in my 93z. after about an hour it starts to sputter at 3000 then as we keep drivin it gets down to 2500 then to 2000 and so on till it hardly wants to run. we get in his car drive around for a hour and come back mine starts right up and runs perfect. i thought maybe the fuel filter is plugged i know its never been changed and the car has 122xxx on it. so i change that yesterday. went drivin around last night and guess what same exact thing happens again. i get in it this morning fire it up and it runs great again. i think it may be vapor locking but im not for sure. anyone have any other opions?

That is the way mine acted when the fuel pump overheated. After it cooled down, it would run fine again until it got hot, then it would repeat itself.
