Default lt-4 conversion or not

i have a '94 z-28 that i've been thinking about getting the lt-4 conversion kit for. i've heard good and bad things about it. i want to get the most horsepower that i can and would like some input on if the lt-4 conversion would be a good thing or what other mods that i could do that give me better results. i would like to break 400rwph if at all possible. thanks for any advice.

LT4 conversion is pretty much dead since you can't buy the manifold anymore. Lots of stuff better than the LT4 conversion. Try a Lloyd Elliot package instead, www.eportworks.com.

whats the differance from the lt1-lt4? No matter what you do, wouldnt you get more power gains from any package if it was a lt4? "lt4 le3" vs. "lt1 le3"

The LT4 HOT kit was generously rated at 425FWhp, nowhere near enough to get 400RWhp down, not even through an M6 which is a pretty efficient tranny.

It takes a lot of supporting mods to have a 400rwhp stock shortblock car, since you are even considering the LT4 package I will go out on a limb and say neither you or your car are ready for such a combination. When you are IMO porting the stock heads is THE choice, my choice in porting service would be Advanced Induction and get the cam from whomever ports the heads.

I don't have dyno charts but my weight/performance is proof of 390-410rwhp depending what calculator you use.

The LT4 kit is generously rated at 425FWHP the same way that most engine packages are generously rated. With little intake/exhaust restrictions and no accessories on an engine dyno.
350-360 is the most you will see at the wheels.

well since GMPP doesn't offer the LT4 intake anymore, Edlebrock does, I myself wouldn't do a LT4 conversion, but a LE package to achieve better power at a cheaper price, but then agian, I just have a cam only LT car...

That would be great but you would have to already have the LT4 kit.
